Vinters Park Nature Reserve
Take your lunch from the canteen and in less than five minutes by foot you’ll be in one of Maidstone’s best kept secrets.
To get here just head back along Whatman Drive and left along the foot path in the direction of KIMS Hospital and you’ll find the entrance ahead to your left, halfway to the roundabout.
Today’s wildlife oasis was laid out as a park by James Whatman, an 18th Century industrialist and you’ll see reminders of its past, including the lake, icehouse, and barrel bridge.
Mote Park
This award-winning 450-acre park is a real gem, perfect for picnics and dog walks and thinking time away from the office.
To get here take the number 9 bus in the direction of Maidstone town centre from Tesco Grove Green or drive for around eight minutes to the main carpark off Mote Avenue, located 2.2 miles from Vinters Business Park.
If you’re look for an out-of-office team experience Mote Park Outdoor Adventure and Mote Park Watersport Centre have lots of activities to choose from including paddle boarding, windsurfing, Segway riding and a 32ft climbing wall.
Tesco Grove Green
13-minute walk, 3-minute drive
For lunch on the go, Tesco Grove Green is a 13-minute walk or three-minute drive away. Just head out of Whatman Drive, take the second exit at the roundabout, and look out for the sign on your right.
As well as the supermarket you’ll find a shopping parade including a post office and general store, newsagents, chemist, and the Early Bird public house.
Notcutts Garden Centre
11-minute walk, 3-minute drive away
Turn left out of Whatman Drive and then left again at the roundabout and you will see Newnham Court Shopping Centre and Notcutts Garden Centre on your right.
Eating options here include a café immediately to the left as you enter the car park and the Newnham Court Inn Public House straight ahead.
M&S Foodhall, Next and the Chiltern Hundreds
18-minute walk, 5–8-minute drive
Head over the next roundabout and take the right-hand lane to visit the Next retail outlet and café plus just beyond a flagship M&S food hall and store.
At the top of Sittingbourne Road, near the junction with Penenden Heath Road, you’ll also find the charming Chiltern Hundreds Public House, one of many great places for lunch, within a short distance of Vinters Business Park.
Bearsted Green
6-minute drive, 28-minute walk
Bearsted Green is at the heart of beautiful Bearsted village surrounded by great pubs as well as being a popular recreation space, for picnics and summer cricket.
Immediately surrounding this open space are the Oak in the Green public house with the Fish on the Green seafood restaurant next door, and on the opposite side, the White Horse.
Other places to try nearby, include the Rose Inn on Ashford Road, popular for its in-house Indian restaurant and the Black Horse Inn in Thurnham.
Bearsted Golf Club is a six-minute drive from Vinters Park Business Park. Located off Ware Street, it’s a perfect location an afternoon round on the fairway – with colleagues or clients.
The nearest gym is David Lloyd in the Lockmeadow Leisure Complex in Maidstone Town Centre, 12 minutes away by car, depending on the time of day.
